Like any Parasite –
If that is full of Meat
The Mind is fat –

But if the Heart omit –
Emaciate the Wit –
The Aliment of it
So absolute.

Zoals elke Parasiet –
Als dat goed in ‘t Vlees zit
Is de Geest vet –

Maar als het Hart zich tekortdoet –
Zal het Verstand –
Zijn Levensonderhoud
Helemaal opteren.

Throw not to the divine
Like Dog a Bone

Maar als het Hart mager is
Kwijnt de moedigste Geest weg
Werp het niet naar God
Als een Bot naar een Hond
